Try to incorporate mindfulness everyday, even for 5 minutes. Start small and then try to aim to practice mindfulness more often.
How to practice mindfulness:
1. You can practice mindfulness anywhere you are as long as you find a quite space where you can be alone and quiet. Even if it is only for 5 minutes.
2. Try to focus on your surroundings and try to focus on your breathing. Listen to the sounds around you. Do not try to focus on controlling your thoughts instead focus on just being in the moment. This can help with distressing.
Mindful Meditation (for 10-20 mins): Mindful mediation incorporates stillness for longer period. It has great benefits on negative emotions, stress and controlling negative thoughts.
Daily Stretches: Try to incorporate body movement including stretches. This helps with blood flow and helps improve mood.
